I got my doctorate in Chinese medicine at 45, after other careers, other cities, and a lot of life. I came to this medicine as a skeptic who felt so broken "I'd try anything" and stayed because it works. I have a background in psychology, 15 years of clinical practice, and a history that includes brain surgeries, major depressions, loss, and the kind of experiences that make you want to take real stock at your health. I'm in my late 50s and am deeply thankful for what I have learned from natural medicine.

At the same time, I'm not a typical wellness person. I hold Chinese medicine and Western medicine both with respect and with skepticism, because neither one has all the answers. I've had brain surgeries because no Chinese medicine treatment can help. My son has had a tumor removed from his spinal cord that Chinese medicine can't touch. What I do is bring them together and tell you what I actually know. Warning: Sometimes I cuss. Life warrants it sometimes and I don't shy from that.

This site is where I share what I've learned, professionally and personally, so you can understand your body better and live better.
